A Saudi Start-Up Entrepreneurial Journey \u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

A 1 Billion Riyal Market with an average of more than 200,000 requests a year only in Saudi, the photography industry was considered an untapped market until last year.\u00a0Sawerly<\/a>, an innovative Saudi start-up, had the sole purpose to open our eyes to the photographer market.<\/strong>\u00a0A once unstandardized, unclear, haphazard market has been translated into services, prices, and profiles that you can easily select and book.<\/p>\n

Sawerly<\/a>, that started late\u00a02013<\/strong>\u00a0was founded by three young bright minded individuals,\u00a0Hussein Attar<\/a>,\u00a0Mohammed Alzahrani<\/a>, and\u00a0Bassam AlSaif<\/a>. Although studying abroad and presented with several job offers when coming back to Saudi, the 3 co-founders decided to take the path that many before them were reluctant to take, fearing the challenges and unstructured system, into entrepreneurship.

Starting as an idea in\u00a0Startup Weekend Jeddah, a startup competition dedicated to generate ideas and startups across the world.\u00a0\u00a0Sawerly<\/a>\u00a0continued after that to be part of\u00a0Flat6Labs Jeddah<\/a>\u00a0accelerators that is run by\u00a0Qotuf al Riyadah<\/a>. Provided with funding, offices space, mentors and training sessions,\u00a0Sawerly\u00a0<\/a>was able to transform the simple idea into a company with legal structure and an minimal viable product ready to be tested into the market.<\/p>\n

Sawerly<\/a>\u00a0went on to win several awards in the kingdom like\u00a0Arabnet Ideathon\u00a02013 and startup 2014 competitions in Riyadh, and it was the national champion of\u00a0Get in the Ring<\/a>\u00a0international competition which was hosted by STC. Recently,\u00a0Sawerly<\/a>\u00a0was chosen as one of the Top 100 Tech companies in Asia by\u00a0Red Herring<\/a>. Sawerly was also selected as semifinalists in\u00a0MIT Entrepreneurship form Arab Region<\/a>\u00a0Competition,\u00a0and MENA Angel Investor Group. In addition,\u00a0Sawerly\u2019s<\/a>\u00a0CEO,\u00a0Hussein Attar<\/a>\u00a0was recently chosen by\u00a0Forbes Middle East\u00a0as one of Top 100 Entrepreneurs Shaping Saudi Arabia\u2019s Future, Entrepreneurial Elite in technology for his work in\u00a0Sawerly<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Last December,\u00a0Sawerly<\/a>\u00a0closed a round of investment of 800,000<\/strong>\u00a0SR by QB Co. a member of\u00a0OQAL<\/a>\u00a0Angel Investors group Jeddah branch. The investment was spent to redevelop and redesign the website and mobile application to improve customer experience, and expand abroad to other countries in the MENA Region.\u00a0Sawerly<\/a>plans to be a global brand and disrupt the photography industry worldwide, while providing job opportunities for thousands of utilized talented photographers.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n
